Atari 5200, and then we finally upgraded to Sega Saturn lol.
We still have a working Sega Genesis. I love it. Finally we upgraded and got a Wii recently though but the Sega is still fun.
We had an Intellivision, then a Nintendo NES. When I moved out on my own I got a Nintendo 64. These days it's just PC gaming for me.
My Atari 2600 died about a decade ago. I wept.
This post is great! I love video game history!
I've had the 8-bit NES, the Super Nintendo, the Gamecube, PS1, and PS2.
I think the oldest console I've played was the Atari 2600/5200, but I can't remember since it wasn't mine.
I remember having the Atari 2600. I owned a Sega Genesis and PS2.
We have a 2600, TurboGrafx, NES, N64, PS2, and GC.
I <3 TurboGrafx, was playing it just yesterday.
And GC -- built in handles, hawt.
I know of most of these, but I'm young so I only remember playing atari 5200 all the Nintendo consoles, some sega and playstation.
We currently own, NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, PS2, PS3, and Xbox360.
I love my games from back in the day.
I still have my genesis, and DC... so saad the DC had to die out to ps2, it was awesome
I was so arrogant when I heard the ps2 was coming out and couldn't wait so I got a DC.. and it died within a couple of years.. damn it,
And I caved in and got a ps2, and got a ps3 recently.. I rarely play with the brick
It would be totally rad to play a few of those older machines and see what they were like.
I had a NES, Sega Genesis, Playstation, Playstation 2, Nintendo 64, Wii and Xbox 360.
Sega Genesis (chunky Ver.), Nintendo 64, Playstation 2, Gamecube, and Wii. there all pack away..to where I can get to them.
Great post! I found it hard to believe that the dream cast come out as late as 1999... but i checked it out and you are right. I am sorry i doubted.
Such good memories.
We had the Atari, the Famicom (the Japanese NES), and NES.
I still have the Super NES, PSone, PS2, Xbox, Xbox360, and Dreamcast.
@DamienT98@xanga - it came out on 9.9.99
how could you forget?
Oh my gosh, Sega Genesis! I had one of those when I was just a wee little thing! I forgot that's what the console looked like, but the controllers I'll never forget. They were so small back then...you could probably kill someone with the modern controllers. O_o I also used to have a Playstation 1...until my youngest sister smashed it.
A friend of mine had a still-working Atari 2600 as well. I shall never forget the summers...when she was at our house, we would play PS2 all day. Whenever we were forced to go to her house, we had to choose between the Atari and the PS1...with three games on it. Yeah, it doesn't get much better than sitting in a hot, un-air conditioned house playing freaking 'Pong' because her parents are too cheap to even buy games for the PS1 she had, let alone a PS2. XP
Currently I've got a Super Nintendo with one game on it that's in perfect working condition (it came with other games when I got it, but Doom was the only one worth keeping), a Playstation 2, and a Playstation 3.
Yes, I had Atari 2600 & Amstrad Pong (you didn't mention is similar to Coleco Telstar in that it only can play Pong with knobs).
You also didn't mention the Commadore 64s or ZX Spectrums? I guess they were like Amiga... not entirely for games but more home computers.
The oldest console my siblings and I ever had was the SNES...and that's about the oldest console it would be logical for us to have had, since my brother was 4 when it was released. I'm a Sony devotee though, so I've only ever used the PS and the PS2.
so, i'm guess in the portable hand held stuff werent included... gameboy, gameboy pocket, color, advanced, advanced sp, ds, dslite, dsi..
game gear, and psp.. oh well
but yeah we had the atari 2600, nes, snes, psx, ps2, ps2 slim, game cube, ps3, wii.. never went with sega, because it would always get over showered. they have bad timing, but were ahead of they're time.
why is the snes weird lookin.. nvm it's the redesigned one..
I use to own alot of those, not all( lost them when I had them at a relatives storage, and she lost it
) and one of these:
