Video Game Lexicology: Gamer-gasm

gamer-gasm (n): the physical and emotional sensation experienced at the peak of excitation, usually resulting from playing, reading about, or seeing a screenshot or a gameplay video for a new game.

I definitely had a gamer-gasm the other day. The Sims 3 came out for PC, but I already had that (read my initial review here; I may do a followup now that I've played longer), but I also realized The Sims 3 came out for the iPhone; in fact, it was downloading as I wrote this.
This, however, was just foreplay. The icing on the cake was seeing the following trailer from Xbox 360 for Project Natal. Do you see where things in the gaming world are about to go?! Facial recognition, full body involvement, NO CONTROLLERS, oh my! If this doesn't give you a gamer-gasm, you must not be alive!

All of E3 was gamer-gasmic for me. Especially the Uncharted 2, Assassin's Creed 2, and Heavy Rain demos.

I had a gamer-gasm when Ninja Gaiden and then Ninja Gaiden 2 came out. And don't get me started on Halo. XD

No controllers is not always going to be a good thing. Imagine playing a football (soccer) game. How would you make you player run? This is nothing but a novelty.

Oh, and my last gamer-gasm was making my first million credits on Star wars Galaxies (pre CU)
