If I told you a game called
The Munchables was released, in which you have to eat vegetables en route to growing bigger and saving your planet from the evil Don Onion, what system would you guess you play it on?
Come on, was anyone going to assume anything other than the Nintendo Wii?
The game is unabashedly designed for kids, with loud colors, uptempo music and frenetic action throughout. Even so, might older teens and adults find it fun? Katamari Damacy, at first glance, looked like a total waste of time. But once I played it, I really enjoyed the original concept of rolling the katamari to make it bigger, as well as the tongue-in-cheek humor of the dialogue and the way-too-catchy songs. I could listen to that soundtrack without the game even being on.
So before I write The Munchables off, I think we should wait for some more reviews to come back. In other words, don't judge a game by its cover.
Are there any "kiddie" games you still enjoy?
