Top Video Game Villains
I came across an interesting countdown the other day: the top 10 video game villains of all time. Countdowns are usually meant to provoke thought and inspire debate, right? After all, in general, at their best, any countdown is still only the opinion of one group. However, this one kind of made me feel incredibly culturally insensitive.
I'll explain: the winners, according to the IGN staff, were the Nazis, featured in way too many games to count. I was kind of troubled that I immediately thought to myself, "The Nazis?! Come on, really?" But this wasn't the only problem that I had with the countdown:
Bowser, the most continually frustrating villain of my childhood, was only able to muster up a #10 spot behind mustachioed doofus Dr. Robotnik from the Sonic games. #10! Out of sheer respect for his body of work, Bowser deserves at least a top three spot.
In fact, I'd put any nameless zombie over any nameless Nazi. Look at this thing!
But of course, this is just my humble opinion. Here's the full list (I'd totally put Psycho Mantis higher as well). Anyway, I leave it to you guys:

I've also got to add any of the bosses from Legacy of Kaine: Soul Reaver. Just for the sheer frustration of trying to figure out how exactly you killed them.

I don't care who you are. Wallmasters are the WORST.
After the first time I saw a wallmaster in LoZ, I had nightmares that gigantic creepy hands crawled out of my walls and ceiling to catch me. That was my childhood. It was even worst when I saw them in OoT. I was reliving the nightmare.
Screw big bosses and all that jazz. Even the regular enemies can be pretty evil, nasty, horrible etc etc etc.
Besides... who wants to get sent back to the beginning of a level? Yeah, that sucks pretty bad, amirite?
honestly, i'm not too sure who my top video game villians are. i think that would take a lot of thinking depending on what you mean my being "top". does that mean that they were the hardest to beat? cause that would mean that bowser shouldn't even be on the top list of villians seeing as he was way too easy to defeat. or do you mean "top" by who my most favorite villians were? cause then bowser would actually be on the list cause i enjoy mario games. i'm currently playing slingo for the ds (go ahead, laugh it up...my guy friends already have) and even though its one of those easy, no stress games, i'm completely annoyed by this dumb pirate. as of right now, he's on my list of top villians because every time i play against him, i can't beat his score. this pirate is seriously one of the top five people i want to punch in the face.

And this is why I could give two turds about just anyone else's "top whatever" lists. Sometimes it's a bunch of trite choices and wtfs. =P
