What Is Your Ideal Final Fantasy Weapon?
We’ve seen tons of powerful weapons in the Final Fantasy series but which one of them would be your ideal weapon? I’m just going to post the main character weapons but don’t hesitate to choose a weapon from any other character.
The Buster Sword
Carried by Cloud in Final Fantasy VII, after acquiring it from Zack who had received it from Angeal, the Buster Sword has immense physical strength and the large blade has some defensive capabilities. This classic Final Fantasy weapon is known by many as the weapon that defines the Final Fantasy series.
The Gunblade

This combination blade and gun (which is why it’s a gunblade…duh) is carried by Squall in Final Fantasy XIII. It is quite useful for the tactical fighter. You can snipe from afar or get up close and personal and deliver some good old fashioned butt whoop.
Brotherhood

This is the blue glowing sword that Tidus carries in Final Fantasy X. Given to him from Wakka, it is a sleek and fast sword that cuts down the mightiest of fiends. It’s probably the coolest looking of the Final Fantasy starter weapons because…well…it glows.
The Keyblade

Ok, so technically not from Final Fantasy but it is from Square Enix so I think I’ll let this one slide for now. With the power to lock and unlock any kind of door you would never need to have keys ever again. And even if you locked yourself out of anywhere, it appears out of nowhere just by willpower alone.
In my honest opinion I would choose the Gunblade. I didn’t really like the emo persona that Squall had most of the game but I’m very partial to tactical fighting so being able to shoot someone from far away with my sword would be convenient. I would force myself to not only work on speed and accuracy from afar but also allow myself to train in strength for any close quarters battle I might find myself in.
Which Final Fantasy weapon would you like to have or could most relate to?

The combination blade gun is based on real weapons of that type though they were extremely rare. I'm not familiar with Final Fantasy but as imaginary video game weapons go, the fuel rod gun in Halo kicked serious arse.
The GunBlade is the best one. I wish I could own a real one.
Gunblade is probably the most versatile, so I would go for that. The buster sword is wayyy to heavy to wield in combat
LIGHTNING'S GUNBLADE, ZOMFREAKINGG. *-* <3
buster sword.
I've always been a fan of Zidane and his twin daggers.
Missing Score + Catastrophe
Gunblade and the Keyblade I really like. Also the lack of Zidane's twin daggers from FF9 makes me sad :(
@ChainGangSoldier619@xanga - I tried looking for them but there aren't any good pictures online. Although they still are quite badass.
Gunblade is FFVIII, not XIII.
Knights of the Round ftw.
The buster sword as shown in advent children was kickass.
Some transmorpher action right there.
@outheresomeplace@xanga - Oh yeah that is definately my fault. You're right. I just made a mistake there. Thanks for pointing it out.
chocobo *BIRD FLU biatches!!! F.uck T.he W.orld*
that badass long sword of sephiroth..
Who needs a weapon when you got Bahamut?
I'm going with the dual Keyblades Oblivion and Oathkeeper used by Roxas in the Secret Ending from KH1. Totally awesome.
@Jack_Hawksmoor@xanga - This guy knows what's up.
Otherwise... I'd love some pins from The World Ends With You.
hehh i really love the idea of whacking heartless on the head with a giant key.
best. weapon. ever.
although, i gotta say, yuna's staff in ffx is always good, i did all of my fighting in that game with the aeons.
@Jack_Hawksmoor@xanga - bahamut is sooo lame compared to the magus sisters.
Gunblade, but it doesn't snipe. the bullets are used to increase damages of limit breaks. more like additional vibrations at the time of the slash to cause more damage. but yeah i go with the gunblade.
i bet if the CG pictures were used, people wouldve chosen the buster sword especially the advent children one, but i would still choose the cg gun blade XD

@Lynnjynh9315@xanga - OMG definitely.
I think just the Keyblade overall is my favorite, I love Kingdom Hearts and it's the only weapon that technically is never replaced by stronger weapons; changing the keychain on it simply modifies the weapon as a whole!
For what it could do, I would love a keyblade-- Unlock anything, including actual people's hearts? C'm on, that's pretty bad ass... not only that, but you change the keychain and you get a completely different looking weapon. I've been stocking up awsome keychains and patterns from random Fan accessories for years. But let's face it that's just a fantasy.
As for a more 'realistic' weapon of choice, probibly the Lionheart. Or any of the Ultima Weapons. =}
Gunblade :)
but yea....
Gunblade don't shoot
slash is all it can do
the gun mechanic only add extra damage on a slash if you pull the trigger at the right time...
PS the title of this should really be "What Is Your Ideal Final Fantasy Blade?", since it really is leaving out a lot of the other weapons.
@angrymaggie@xanga - Oh, those ladies are practically uncontrollable. They pretty much do what they want to do, which is mostly rest.
